Cookbook

The Austin Fire Museum is restoring/modernizing this 1930 LaFrance Suburbanite Pumper. They will be replacing the motor, transmission, steering, brakes, etc. in an effort to make it simple, reliable and safe to drive. After the project is complete, the engine will be available for weddings, birthday parties and other events. The Austin Firefighter's Cookbook will be the primary fundraiser for this effort along with donations and payroll deduction. The engine was originally in service in Refugio, Texas and was donated to the Museum by Dale and David Kirtland of Allandale. Mark Gustafson at Station 37 has volunteered to be the lead mechanic and any assistance would be welcome - no experience necessary.
Contact Phil Mueller at 512-789-3619 or at Station 1C with any questions.
